About Lisa
   

Lisa Sauvageau was raised in Quebec, Canada and the United States. At the age of 7 she was introduced to the use of the sewing machine by her grandmother and was tutored in needlework skills by her aunts.

By the age of 12 Lisa was creating her own wardrobe and by the age of 16 was selling her creations. As her skills grew, Lisa broadened her experience with custom embroidery and sewing, costume design, jewelry making and painting.

As a freelance designer, Lisa has costumed over 50 theatrical productions as well as creating inflatable costumes for parades and promotional events. Lisa has developed innovative patterning techniques and is an expert patternmaker as well as an accomplished designer.

Lisa Sauvageau believes in giving back to the community that inspires her, and thus has been involved in numerous volunteer activities, including ­ but not limited to ­ working with a local children's theater for 10 years; helping to produce the annual Mardi Gras Costume Ball for over 12 years, art directing Ojai's annual celebration, known as "Ojai Day"; shepherding the creation of the annual Mandala; and giving her time, creativity and love to a host of other events and organizations over the years.
